Age Is Nothing But A Number
So who ultimately won’t buy a book because its not within the recommended age range for our wee recipients? Don’t allow an age range to put you off buying a fab book. From birth, even a bump, baby B has been read books that are classified far beyond her age and by doing so her communication skills are way beyond her years….even if i do say so myself.
Exposing babies and kids to books recommended for an older age group allows little ones to hear language and words far sooner in many more contexts and scenarios. It truly can only be of benefit and soon you will see them reaping the rewards for this early exposure.
Comprehension and their ability to relate stories to their real world will develop sooner and with more ease, giving your little one the ability to empathise and accept information more readily.
So all, don’t allow that age classification to stop you from buying a book. Age is nothing but a number after all *wink*.
hi would you say thats true the other way round as well, that older children would be ok reading a book meant for below their age? I mean probably not if its years out but 1 or 2 years below maybe? thanks
